Let Them Eat Cake

Overview

Once they get into it, just about every team will have serious fun designing and decorating a cake. Even (or maybe especially) if they’ve never done it before. This event begins with delicious sheet cakes already baked to perfection, so forget that old line about needing to break a few eggs here, it’s all about decoration and presentation. Naturally, we provide all cakes and a wild assortment of decorating supplies.

Let Them Eat Cake! is framed as a friendly competition, so we begin by dividing your group into teams. You can do this according to departments, sales regions, etc. Or add a dash of random and let teambonding assemble the teams. Either way, they’ll come up with a team name, along with a cheer or chant. Teams next sketch possible designs, working together to focus the vision behind their sweet masterpiece. Will they go for the company logo? Some symbol that reflects how the team sees itself? A culinary caricature of your CEO? The sky’s the limit (although we’re happy to steer everyone in a common direction if you so desire).

The cakes are now sculpted according to each teams plan, and soon the frosting begins to fly. Teamwork…diplomacy…bargaining…and plenty of laughter. All the necessary ingredients are mixed in liberally. The whole process really is lots of fun. And when your friendly teambonding Master of Ceremonies calls time, each group gets to present their creation, complete with team cheer and an explanation of the design. A sound system, music and props bring real energy and excitement to the experience (we’ll work with you up front to decide on award categories and prizes).

Want to add a philanthropic touch to your event? We can provide cupcakes for the group to decorate, and even coordinate donation of the finished products to a local foodbank, shelter or other worthy charity.
